This picture was inspired by the area along the fertile Rio Grande River Valley near Hatch New Mexico which is known as the Chile Capital of the World. Farming in New Mexico can be challenging due to the arid climate which is why irrigation canals are used to carry the life-giving water from the Rio Grande to the crops in this small farming community. New Mexico produces the best Chile on the planet and Hatch is at the heart of the farming which produces amazing chile (both red and green). Be sure to plan a visit to Hatch during Labor Day and enjoy the sights, sounds, aroma and flavor of the Hatch Chile Festival.
