This painting was inspired by beautiful yellow sagebrush near Las Cruces, New Mexico. Sagebrush can come in many different varieties. The yellow Sagebrush is fairly common around New Mexico and adds natural color and beauty to the landscape.

Las Cruces is the second largest city in the state at just over one hundred thousand residents. It is located in the far South of the State along the Rio Grande river. Las Cruces is the home of the New Mexico State University (NMSU) and is known for the nearby attractions: White Sands, the Organ Mountains, Spaceport America, and the headquarters of Virgin Galactic.
