This painting was inspired by a beautiful meandering stream in the Jemez Mountains. There are not huge rivers in the Jemez Mountains but the streams, ponds, and lakes in the Jemez Mountains are beautiful and relaxing. The water brings life to the area bringing both beautiful plant life and frequent visits by wild animals. Many of the popular hiking and picnicking areas in the Jemez are found near wonderful streams, lakes, and the occasional hot springs for those who know how to find them.
