This painting was inspired by a stunning view from Los Alamos looking towards the sunrise to the East as the rising sun warms the sky above the Sangre de Cristo mountains. The Quemazon housing development was built around the turn of the century and has stunning views of the town of Los Alamos and the beautiful New Mexico landscape beyond the town. The landscape, and mountains, are always beautiful and they are certainly enhanced by a stunning New Mexico sunrise. With the natural beauty of the state combined with the clear blue skies, sunrises and sunsets tend to be especially stunning.
