Valle Caldera Indian Summer

Dimensions: 16" x 20"
Media: Oil

This is another painting inspired by the stunning beauty of Valles Caldera in the Jemez Mountains. The Valles Caldera is an inactive volcanic caldera that is nearly 14 miles wide. It includes ponds, streams, hot springs, domes, and several grass valleys including Valle Grande which is the largest of the valleys. Valles Caldera National Preserve was established in 2000 when the land transitioned from private ownership to Federal ownership. Visitors can enjoy stunning views from the road, get a closer look at a cabin built for one of the numerous movies filmed on site, check in with the visitor center to learn more about the history, or enjoy driving, biking, or hiking throughout the National Preserve. No matter how you prefer enjoying Valles Caldera National Preserve, it will be an incredible experience well worth the drive into the Jemez Mountains!
