Valle Grande Reflections

Dimensions: 16" x 20"
Media: Oil

This painting was inspired by the stunning beauty of Valles Caldera in the Jemez Mountains. The Valles Caldera is an inactive volcanic caldera that is nearly 14 miles wide. It includes ponds, streams, hot springs, domes, and several grass valleys including Valle Grande which is the largest of the valleys. Valles Caldera National Preserve was established in 2000 when the land transitioned from private ownership to Federal ownership. The Valles Caldera is beautiful any time of the year and is open for various recreational activities including hiking and fishing.
